The Story of Fidget Coins

My name is Katherine, and I'm a high school student in New Hampshire. As someone who has ADHD I found that I was often fidgeting with things, but a lot of the fidget toys available were bulky, loud, and distracting to others.  After I took a 3D modeling class at my high school I came up with the idea for a small, textured coin that I could fidget with that wouldn't disrupt other people. I designed some patterns with CAD software and used a 3D printer to make them. The coins were a great solution; I could remain focused on learning while also keeping my hands busy. The variety of textures provides multi-sensory input that helps calm my mind.

 Remote Learning During the Pandemic and Beyond

The pandemic created a whole new challenge for students, and even more so for those who struggle with attention issues. Remote learning was essential to keep people safe, but students with attention issues were in an environment not designed to promote learning. When I realized I had a potential solution to this problem, I wanted to share it with other students. Now as students return to school in person, this is still an effective solution to an ongoing problem. They are quiet and not distracting, and my hope is that I can help other students to have more success learning remotely, in the classroom, and beyond. 

Version 2.0 Now Available!
A new version of Fidget Coins are now available!  These new sets are slightly larger in diameter, new designs, and more pronounced textures.  The smaller size coins will continue to be available upon request, simply click the button in the form below to choose the smaller size coins.
